Take your 29er sailing to the next level …

It is with great pleasure I can announce that I have translated my book “The 29er manual” to English. This is the first manual for the best sailors who want new ideas or adjustments to their routine as well as for the beginners who can get a step-by-step idea on how to make the boat sail fast. The book is 100 pages on how I technically handled the boat and it is a collection of what we know and have found out in Denmark throughout the past 10 years.

My name is Jens-Philip Dehn-Toftehøj and I have sailed the optimist for seven years and then sailed the 29er for five years. Here I was helm for four years and crew for one year, and I managed to be among the best doing both. I sailed with three different persons during the five years and I got to know the boat and developed a feeling for sailing it, that I now want to pass on.

When I stopped sailing the 29er, I was the last part of a generation of very talented 29er sailors in Denmark, and we left a large gap to the next generation. Therefore, I have written this manual partly as a reference piece but also as a suggestion of how things can be done. It is not a key list, but the skills I developed while sailing, and the things I found out, worked. Hopefully, this can set the foundation for some decent 29er sailors who can take over from where I left.

The manual is written both from the helm's and the crew's point of view and it is ready to be bought from www.the29ermanual.com
